In Pursuit of Happiness

I’m not sure if you’re crazy, arrogant, insensitive, and mean; or just plain old misunderstood. I use to think it was the latter but the way that you deal with situations concerning the people you “care” about is proving me wrong.

I don’t want anything from you. What I did want, you were never prepared to give and I understand that now. All I wanted was to say “Hello” and hopefully receive something pleasant in return. I knew that in taking that risk I would be left feeling one of two ways: “Missing you” or “Regretting the fact that I even let you cross my mind.”

Your response left a bad taste in my mouth. A taste filled with regret and confirmation of why we could never work. Your words oozed with arrogance and left me feeling like you don’t want to be bothered….. by me or anyone else. I’m still not sure what your intentions were but if your mission was to push me away completely, you’ve accomplished your goal.

There’s only room for one person on your island and that’s you. I’m the kind of woman that needs to be on a throne in my own castle. I hope you find sanity and peace of mind one day, so that you could truly discover happiness with yourself and with another.

      And don’t worry, I’ll make sure you don’t cross my mind ever again…
